Dr Antoinette Rudolph
Dr Antoinette graduated in 2022. She joined the BVH team in 2024 as a General Practitioner. Beyond her medical role, she finds joy in playing the violin, displaying her artistic side, and maintains a healthy lifestyle through running.
Dr Muhammed Moola
Dr. Muhammed qualified in 2020, became an integral part of the BVH team in 2023, assuming the crucial role of after-hours veterinarian. Fueled by a passion for critical and emergency care within veterinary medicine, Muhammed is dedicated to advancing his expertise in these specialized areas.
Outside the veterinary realm, Muhammed finds joy in quality time with friends, with a special fondness for engaging in board games.
Dr Quinton Van Oudtshoorn
Prior to delving into the field of veterinary science, Dr Quinton laid the foundation for his career with a degree in Agriculture. His journey led him to qualifying as a veterinarian in 1990. Quinton’s expertise was honed through diverse experiences in private practice, taking him across the expanse of our beautiful country.
Beyond his unwavering commitment to BVH and the well-being of his patients, Quinton continues to integrate his agricultural background into his life. He passionately tends to Drakensberger Cattle, applying his knowledge to the art of farming. He also finds joy and fulfillment in the world of Dressage, where he competes with five magnificent warmblood horses.
Dr Lauren Wakefield
Dr Lauren graduated as a veterinarian in 2022, beginning her time with BVH through an internship in 2023. Since then, she has become one of our generalist veterinarians. Lauren is driven to further expand her knowledge in veterinary medicine soon.
Lauren has a feline companion named Juno, whom she adores. When not at the practice Lauren is most likely to be found experimenting in the kitchen and endeavoring to improve her green thumb, and keep more than just succulents alive.
Dr Sarah-Olivia Nunn
Dr Sarah graduated as a veterinarian in 2020 and joined the BVH team in 2023 as an intern, seamlessly transitioning to a generalist role in 2024.
Outside of work Sarah finds delight in reading, cooking, engaging in general knowledge quizzes, and honing her golf skills. Sarah has two highly energetic and lovable cats.
Dr Jayde Berman
Dr Jayde is a dedicated veterinarian with a unique journey that began with her qualification from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Onderstepoort in 2017. Before pursuing her passion for veterinary care, Jayde earned a degree in Economics from Wits University in 2011.
Jayde’s love for small animals is palpable, and she is thrilled to work with these special creatures on a daily basis. Beyond her veterinary expertise, Jayde has a particular interest in ophthalmology, demonstrating her commitment to specialized care.
Outside of BVH, Jayde’s heart lies with her family, both human and furry. She is happily married and cherishes moments with her two sons. A true adventurer, Jayde finds joy in travel and embraces the sunshine outdoors. Her multifaceted approach to life, blending professional dedication with family and personal interests, adds a vibrant and compassionate touch to the BVH team.
Dr Kathleen Carter
Dr Kathleen is a seasoned veterinarian whose journey began with her graduation from the Faculty of Veterinary Science in 2010. With five years of dedicated service in Welkom and Virginia, she brought a wealth of experience to the BVH team upon joining in 2016. Beyond her passion for veterinary care, Kathleen is an avid motorcyclist, adding a dynamic and adventurous dimension to her multifaceted expertise. Her commitment to the well-being of animals is complemented by her love for the open road, reflecting the vibrant spirit she brings to the BVH family. Kathleen’s love of the veterinary world is infectious, and you can’t help but learn a few things just listening to her enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge, which she is always eager to share.
Dr Michelle Safranek
Dr Michelle is a dedicated veterinarian who earned her BVSc degree at Onderstepoort in 2010. Her professional journey started at Greenside Animal Hospital in Johannesburg, where she honed her skills after qualifying. Michelle, with her diverse expertise, became a valued member of the BVH team in 2017.
Adding to her impressive credentials, Michelle completed her PG Dip in Veterinary Clinical Sciences in 2022. Michelle’s professional interests span small animal emergency and critical care, soft tissue surgery, and dental care, showcasing her commitment to comprehensive veterinary services. Beyond her role at BVH, she finds joy in spending quality time with her family and pets. Michelle’s love for the outdoors is evident in her passion for walking, cycling, and gardening, reflecting her well-rounded approach to both her professional and personal pursuits.
Dr Candyce Pedreiro
Dr Candyce currently serves as a Medicine Resident at BVH. She earned her BVSc degree in 2020, after which she pursued a rotating internship in Small Animals at the University of Pretoria in 2022. Following the completion of her internship, she contributed as a General Practitioner for several months before finding her place as a valuable member of the BVH team. Candyce’s passion for veterinary medicine is evident in her specific interests in oncology, neurology, and critical care.
Candyce is a self-proclaimed “crazy animal lady,” overseeing a delightful zoo of 5 dogs and 4 cats, all of whom she rescued and holds dear to her heart. Her love for the outdoors is balanced by an appreciation for indoor activities such as board games, gaming, and indulging in Lego building. Candyce also enjoys unwinding with a good TV series when not immersed in the world of veterinary medicine.
Dr Yulishia Devnath
Dr Yulishia (affectionately known to everyone as “Dr Lee.”) embarked on her journey in the world of veterinary medicine after graduating in 2015. Lee transitioned to clinical practice in East London, marking the beginning of a four-year chapter that deepened her passion for medicine.
It was during this period that Lee decided to pursue further specialization. In 2021, she seized the opportunity to undertake a one-year internship at BVH. Undeterred by challenges, Lee continued her journey as a General Practitioner within BVH, driven by the aspiration to attain a residency and specialize in her chosen field. Her dedication and hard work paid off as she successfully achieved her postgraduate honour’s in 2024. Lee is now proudly serving as a BVH Medicine Resident, fully immersed in her chosen specialty.
Outside of work, Lee prioritizes quality time with her friends and family. Her heart belongs to her cherished dachshund, with whom she shares a special bond, showcasing her nurturing and caring nature beyond the confines of her medical practice.
Dr Chris Collie
Dr Chris earned his BVSc degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Onderstepoort in June 1993. His journey commenced as a small animal veterinarian in Southend, Essex, UK, from November 1993 to June 1995, followed by some travelling and then a relocation to Farnham, Surrey, where he continued to contribute to the veterinary profession until August 2000.
In September 2000, Chris brought his extensive experience and passion to Bryanston Veterinary Hospital, marking the beginning of a significant chapter in his career. His commitment to continuous learning and professional development is evidenced by his pursuit of his BVSc Hons, with a focus on small animal medicine and ophthalmology, which he completed in 2003.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Chris finds fulfilment in his roles as a husband and father to three beautiful children. Together with his family, they share their home with two dogs, two cats, numerous fish, and even four chickens. Chris’s diverse interests extend to a love for travelling, wildlife, photography, and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. This well-rounded approach to life reflects not only his dedication to veterinary care but also his appreciation for the joys of family and the wonders of the world around him.
