Sr Bianca Caldeira De Aguiar

Sr Bianca is a 2023 graduate in veterinary nursing, who commenced her professional journey with BVH. Outside of the practice, Bianca finds joy in playing volleyball, a sport that complements her dynamic and energetic personality.

At home, she shares her time with a delightful trio of companions—a loyal Labrador, a spirited Cocker Spaniel, and a charming fluffy cat. Bianca has a unique interest—she enjoys watching cricket at the stadium with her friends, even though the nuances of the game might elude her.

Janet Simon

Sr Janet Simon

Sr Janet qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1987 and has since dedicated her career to the well-being of animals. Her professional journey has woven through various realms, including animal welfare, private practice, and specialist clinics, each experience contributing to her wealth of expertise.

Passionate about her work, Janet cherishes every moment of her career, finding fulfillment in the care and support she provides to our furry friends. Beyond the clinic, family holds a special place in her heart, with her grandchildren being the radiant center of her world. At home she has four beautiful, rescued dogs and a cat, embodying her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of animals.

Bongane Simelane

Sr Bongane Simelane

Sr Bongane, having attained his BVN degree with pride in December 2022, swiftly integrated into the BVH team. Bongane aspires to further his education in critical care. Witnessing the recovery of critical patients deeply satisfies his heart.

Outside the workplace, you’ll find him on the netball court or taking a jog. Beyond that, Bongane possesses a flair for baking and takes great pride in showcasing his exceptional skills in the kitchen.

Sive Dunjwa

Sr Sive Dunjwa

Sr Sive earned his BVN degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Onderstepoort in 2021 and promptly joined BVH. You will find that Sive spends most of his working hours dedicated to patients in ICU as he holds a special interest in intensive care nursing.

Outside of his veterinary work, Sive, along with his feline companion Haniwa, assume the role of movie critics during their leisure hours. Sive also showcases a keen interest in both fashion and dance.

Onelihle Mabija

Sr Onelihle Mabija

Sr Onelihle obtained her degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2021 and promptly joined BVH, where she currently serves as one of our surgical nurses. Onelihle also dedicates time to working in ICU, as she is passionate about providing critical care.

Outside of work Onelihle enjoys the outdoors, especially when hiking & running. She is creative in the kitchen and takes delight in her own cooking. Onelihle actively invests her time in visiting local orphanages, as they hold a very special place in her heart.

Courtney Gallocher

Sr Courtney Gallocher

Sr Courtney, a qualified veterinary nurse since 2018, formed part of the BVH team in 2021, quickly becoming one of our surgical nurses. One of her daily fulfillments includes providing compassionate care and tender loving attention to her patients.

Beyond the veterinary world, Courtney boasts an impressive achievement as the South African 2* Vaulting Champion, showcasing her dedication and skill in a unique sporting discipline. During her leisure moments, she indulges in the rhythmic joy of tap dancing and immerses herself the pages of a good book.  

Aaliya Vawda

Sr Aaliya Vawda

Sr Aaliya graduated in 2022 and joined the BVH team in 2024. Outside of work, Aaliya enjoys spending time with friends and is very family-oriented. She has a deep passion for animals, sharing her home with four cats, two dogs, and a bird. Additionally, Aaliya is an avid horse rider.

Ongama Mangaliso

Sr Ongama Mangaliso

Sr Ongama qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2017 and joined the BVH team in 2018. Prior to discovering his love for veterinary nursing he completed a National Diploma in Animal Production and Pasture Science with Fort Cox College of Agriculture.

As a proud father of three, he understands the importance of compassion both at work and at home. An avid soccer fan, Ongama’s favorite team is Mamelodi Sundowns.

Donald Choguya

Sr Donald Choguya

Sr Donald is one of our senior veterinary nurses, he has been a dedicated member of BVH since 2017 and excels in his role as an after-hours veterinary nurse.

Donald has many accomplishments beyond his Diploma in Veterinary Nursing, including bachelor’s Degrees in both Business Administration and Commerce, as well as Honors in Business Management and Master in Digital Business Management.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Donald can be found reading and enjoying the strategic challenges of playing chess.

Robin Haltmann

Sr Robin Haltmann

Sr Robin serves as our Assistant Hospital Manager and Head Surgical Veterinary Nurse. Robin graduated with distinction and received a merit in academia in 2019. Currently, she is immersed in postgraduate studies, focusing on anaesthesiology, critical care, practice management, and animal behavior. Her special interests include surgery and anaesthesiology.

Beyond BVH, Robin spends her cherished moments with loved ones, including her cat and two dogs. She passionately advocates for local animal shelters, emphasizing the joy of expanding families through the adoption of a furry family member. Robin is a nature enthusiast, particularly enamored with the African bushveld.
